1965 JAGUAR E-TYPE F/H/C 4.2 OPALESCENT SILVER BLUE
We have been working on this wonderful 1964 Jaguar E-Type for the last 12 months. This Series 1 fixed/head/coupe (originally left hand drive) was received partially dismantled and in a very poor state, with many of the components beyond repair or all together missing.
The customer was keen to have a full concourse nut and bolt restoration. We kept the car as original as possible with a few upgrades, this includes a reconfiguration to right hand drive, new more powerful brakes, Classicfabs exhaust and LED lighting.
As you can you see from the pictures below, a considerable amount of body work was required to bring this car up to standard. We started off by completely stripping the car ready for media blasting, removing any unwanted paint, allowing us to make any repairs necessary to the shell. The engine once removed was fully rebuilt by our in house engineers and upgraded as necessary. All components that could be saved went through our vapour blasting/media room, giving them second life and enabling us to keep the car as authentic as possible. The customer wanted the car resprayed back to its’s original colour of opalescent silver blue and the interior fully re-trimmed in dark blue leather.
We have managed to come within the original budget even with the upgrades and vast amount of parts missing.
